BIOGRAPHY OF CRYSTAL WHITTAKER

Home birthed within the community of West End, Negril on Wednesday the 21st of February 2001, Crystal Whittaker became apart of a loving family of four. She was later dedicated twice to God the Father. This double dosage served as surety that she belonged to the body of Christ and her family made it a common goal to reinforce the Christian values.

Confidently reading by the age of two years she attended the Nompriel Road Early Childhood Institution and graduated by the age of five years. She moved on to the Mt. Airy Primary and Infant School where she spent seven years. This included two years of learning in the sixth grade, as she was younger than the required age to sit the final GSAT examinations. She maintained being the top of all her classes for these seven years alongside participating within the Drum Ensemble, Brownies, Spanish and Environmental Club.

With a 94.3% average she gained entry into the Manning’s School and began her seven-year to date tenure. Crystal expressed an interest and found joy in Reading, writing, dancing, singing, studying human differences, and being creative. These ‘spare-time activities’ are held close and are practiced on a daily basis. At the Manning’s School, Crystal associated

herself with clubs and societies namely: the Performing Arts Society, National Debating Team, Students Council, Interact Club, Key Club, Leo Club and Cheerleading Society.

She further took on positions such as: being Form Captain, Class Student Council Representative, Interact Club Director of International Affairs, Interact Club Secretary, Schools’ Student Council First Vice President, Inter-School Sports Fiddler House President and the President of the Performing Arts Society.

Before her fifth form graduation, ‘Class of 2018’, she maintained her academics. She was always amongst the top five within her classes for each school term. Being able to balance both academics and extra-curricular, she reaped success by gaining six distinctions and four credits at the CXC level along with awards for ‘Creative writing’ and ‘Speech performing’.

All teachers who have taught her from first to fifth form are highly appreciated by her, because of their patience and eagerness for the successes of everyone. In pursuit of her career choice, Miss Whittaker has managed to access studies in the area of Humanities, inclusive of the subjects: Communication Studies, Caribbean Studies, Integrated Mathematics, Caribbean History, Literatures in English, Sociology and Spanish during her two years at the sixth form level. All her present teachers are admired and loved by her, for going above and beyond everyday, both inside and outside of the classroom setting.

Crystal Whittaker humbly holds the title of Miss Manning’s 2017-second runner up and boldly represents the title of Manning’s School Arts and Food Festival Queen 2018. It is her aim to do as much good as she can for her country and the world as she makes another wrong right and grant another smile by being kind. Her aspiration to become a Detective, Psychologist, Founder of Charity institutions and Motivator by Creative Literatures is deeply fermented as she anticipates her start of college at the University of the West Indies studying Social Sciences.
