COVID-19 Update

As growing concerns of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) continues to grow internationally, nations across the world are working diligently to combat and manage the spread of the virus. In the last three days, Jamaica’s coronavirus cases have risen from one to eight. Health authorities and universities are taking action to help prevent any further spread. Per the direction of the Jamaican Ministry of Health, the University of the West Indies, as well as other educational facilities, have decided to close for a period of 14 consecutive days to implement the ability for online instruction. This change will affect the four students currently in Jamaica as one student is studying aboard this semester in Canada. She too will experience a one-week closure.

We are relieved to report that all the JLWMSF students are healthy and are looking forward to continuing their educational pursuits.
